Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky
Eighteen Pieces
Op. 72
About Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky's Eighteen Pieces
This is Tchaikovsky’s last piano cycle, which he wrote in the final year of his life. Containing his most sophisticated piano music, it could be described as a fairly light-hearted musical diary, with several dedications and nods to various other composers.
Consisting mainly of dance movements, this collection has a lot of personality and charm and surely deserves to be played more often than it is.
