About Edvard Grieg's Humoresques
The Humoresques, clearly inspired by Norwegian folk music, were dedicated to Grieg’s compatriot Rikard Nordraak, who had a profound influence on Grieg during his time in Copenhagen.
Nordraak, a passionate patriot and lover of folk music, is best known for having composed the Norwegian national anthem (1864).
