Edvard Grieg
Four Pieces
Op. 1
About Edvard Grieg's Four Pieces
The Four Piano Pieces were written while Grieg was still in his teens, studying piano at the Leipzig Conservatory under Ignaz Moscheles.
Betraying influences from Schumann and Mendelssohn but also from Chopin, they are quite charming pieces, already showing their composer’s great gift for writing for the piano.
