Franz Schubert
Sonata 6
in E Minor, D. 566
ID: 2702
This sonata was published posthumously at widely varying dates and places (between 1848 and 1929). Only the two first movements, Moderato and Allegretto, are certain to be intended by Schubert to form a Sonata. The Scherzo was written into the same manuscript but is sometimes thought to be wrongly included. The concluding Rondo D 506, which was published separately before anyone knew about the existence of the other movements, has been repeatedly suggested as the missing finale.
